It’s tough to look ahead to Super Bowl LI when the NFL preseason isn’t even here yet, but for fans of football futures this is the prime time to get the most value out of these long-term investments. One of the most entertaining markets is wagering on which two teams will do battle in the Big Game.
Here are three possible Super Bowl matchups worth a wager this summer with their sports bet odds:
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals (+1,000)
This is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIII, which had one of the most insane finishes in Big Game history. This potential matchup would feature two of the best two-way teams in the NFL, with the Steelers’ high-flying offense going against the Cardinals’ aggressive defense. Arizona has plenty to prove after getting trounced by Carolina in the NFC title game and Pittsburgh hung tight with eventual champ Denver in the Divisional Round last season.
New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys (+2,500)
Believe it or not, this was one of the most popular matchup picks for Super Bowl 50 – before Tony Romo was lost for most of the year and Dallas crumbled without its star passer under center. The Patriots get a taste of life without their franchise player, missing Tom Brady for the first four games of the season due to suspension, but should weather that storm and be ready for another postseason run. The Cowboys are once again talent rich on offense and should contend for the NFC East title. And once you’re in the postseason, anything can happen…
Indianapolis Colts vs. Carolina Panthers (+5,000)
The Colts are coming off a forgettable 2015 but before that slug of a season, Indianapolis was among the AFC elite. Andrew Luck has plenty of motivation to improve, after signing a mega deal, and head coach Chuck Pagano isn’t under the gun like in 2015. As for the NFC, the Panthers are being picked for a Super Bowl hangover, but Cam Newton is still the most dynamic player in the game and welcomes back WR Kelvin Benjamin, who missed all of last season. Carolina does have a tougher schedule this time around, but holds plenty of value as the reigning NFC champ.
