Week one for both the Eagles and the Vikings was not what either of them had hoped for, but the Eagles still came out on top.

They started out hot against the New England Patriots, jumping out to a 16-point lead in the first half, before having to hold on for dear life to the tune of 25-20. The Vikings weren’t as lucky as they fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The offense for the Vikings was supposed to be powerful, but Kirk Cousins turned the ball over 3 times in this one to lose.

Week two should be a telling game for these two, both have obvious issues that they want to correct going into this week, but with a short week that is difficult. The easiest thing to clean up would be the turnovers for both teams.

Cousins had two interceptions and a fumble that were inexcusable, while Jalen Hurts had a fumble late that could have helped seal the win for the Eagles if he held on to it.

Both of the defenses played some solid ball in week one, though. The Eagles showed some impressive pass rush from the interior, including rookie sensation Jalen Carter, who already looks like a menace in the NFL.

The Vikings held the Buccaneers to 20 points, despite giving up the ball that often.

I expect this game to be an up-and-down affair. Kirk Cousins doesn’t usually give us two horrible games in a row, and the Eagles offense will want to get out there and establish some credibility that they struggled to develop in week one.

This has the makings of a 33-28 game to me, with the Eagles prevailing due to a big defensive stop late. Justin Jefferson and the Vikings will score a bit, but the Eagle’s defense is going to make the stop that they need.
