Deion Sanders’s hiring by the University of Colorado has already paid for itself through just three games with Coach Prime at the helm.
Not only has Sanders’s presence made the Buffaloes must-see television, but they’ve also quickly become a media darling.
Sanders’s sound bites might just present themselves as the greatest recruiter for the university over the next few years.
Their second game of the season against state rival Colorado State possibly could have locked up Colorado’s place for game of the year.
While Coach Sanders, his son and starting quarterback Shadeur Sanders, and two-way superstar Travis Hunter are already massive draws that make the Buffaloes one of the most exciting teams in the sport, Prime’s impact extends way off of the field in many ways, including making Colorado an all-around spectacle.
The Buffaloes’ speedy ascension smack dab into the middle of the public eye has had some negative effects as well, unfortunately.
The national love for Colorado has drawn a gigantic, bleeding red target on their backs in the eyes of their opponents.
Before the game even kicked off, plenty of off-field drama went down, including Colorado State Head Coach Jay Norvell taking a cheap shot at Prime on his show.
Norvell stated, "When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and my glasses off," alluding to Sanders’s affinity for donning those items during his press conferences.
This came shortly after Shedeur Sanders went on record to inform the public that he and his team take careful notes of what’s said about them, as a response to some of the insults thrown at them by Nebraska Head Coach Matt Rhule who they beat in Week 2, 36-14.
Unfortunately, the tension with Colorado State spilled between the painted lines, as well. In the midst of a tightly contested game, Rams defensive back Henry Blackburn laid a late hit on Travis Hunter, despite the receiver being completely and visibly defenseless throughout the duration of the play.
That decision drew an ejection for Blackburn, as Hunter was ruled out for the remainder of the game and could miss more time.

The Buffaloes would rally and end up downing the Rams in double overtime, but the drama didn’t stop there.
Reportedly, Blackburn and his mother received the ire of overzealous Colorado fans, who issued them verbal abuses including death threats.
Let’s hope that the rest of Coach Prime’s career on the sidelines is a lot more amicable than it has been so far.
