The Miami Hurricanes will face the Texas Longhorns in the final game of the Elite 8. This game will take place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, so Texas will likely have a good group of fans come out.
The Hurricanes have been on a dream run that began with them narrowly beating the Drake Bulldogs 63-56 in the First Round. They followed that up with a strong 85-69 win over the Indiana Hoosiers in the Round of 32.
Isaiah Wong scored an absurd 27 points in 36 minutes to lead all scorers. Miami had to take on the Houston Cougars in their Sweet 16 matchup. Houston was the #1 seed in their region and Miami’s toughest task yet.
The Hurricanes had a six-point lead at half and followed that up by scoring 47 points in the second half. Nijel Pack led all scorers with 26 points, and Isaiah Wong had 20 points. Miami shot significantly better than Houston, which won them the game.
The Longhorns had an easier time to the Elite 8 than the Hurricanes. They destroyed the Colgate Raiders 81-61 in their First Round game. Texas followed that up by squeaking out a 71-66 win in the Round of 32 against Penn State but handily defeated the Xavier Musketeers 83-71 in the Sweet 16.
They had a 42-25 lead at halftime and never looked back. Texas depended heavily on Timmy Allen, Tyrese Hunter, and Marcus Carr in this matchup and it paid off. They all played 32 or more minutes and combined for 48 points.

This game will be close, but I would bet on Texas. Miami’s run to the Elite 8 has been nothing short of incredible, but it has to end sometime. The Hurricanes will have some major issues in this game.
Much of their scoring comes from guards, while Texas has a more balanced scoring attack that involves guards and forwards. In addition, Texas has a better defense. They allow 66 points per game but are in the Big 12. That is one of the toughest conferences in college basketball, so allowing 66 points per game is not that many.
This should be a great game, but I would bet on Texas.
