The Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies are two promising teams in the Western Conference searching for an identity while being led by two legitimate superstars in Luka Doncic and Ja Morant.
Although these two teams have promising futures, with Doncic and Morant leading the way, they are seemingly heading in different directions ahead of their Wednesday night clash in Memphis. Dallas has struggled this season due to injuries and the simple fact that their two best players, Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, might not be a great fit.
A true test for Dallas will come on Tuesday night when they face Kevin Durant’s Brooklyn Nets. The second night of a back-to-back will pose a different problem with Morant being a nightmare for teams to contain as he’s putting together an impressive sophomore campaign as the new face of the Grizzlies franchise.
Morant is averaging 24.1 points and 6.8 assists per game this season and has shown no signs of slowing down. Doncic, however, continues to do his thing in Dallas but will have his hands full trying to slow down a motivated Memphis squad looking to prove it is the real deal this season.
With this game being the second game of a back-to-back for the Mavericks, it would be safe to say that the Grizzlies will take advantage and come out on top in this one. However, it’ll take everything Dallas has to get the best of the Nets, and it probably won’t have much less one day later to take down a hungry Grizzlies team looking to improve to 15-10.
