Heading into Week 17 of the NFL regular season, there are several teams in clinching position in the NFC whether it is clinching a playoff spot or clinching their division title.
There are currently four teams in the conference that have clinched a playoff spot.
The Philadelphia Eagles sit in first place at 13-2 and are holding on to the bye week. Behind them are the 12-3 Minnesota Vikings who have clinched the NFC North division title.
The San Francisco 49ers at 11-4 have also clinched a playoff spot after they clinched the NFC West division title. The fourth team to clinch a playoff spot are the Dallas Cowboys who also sit with an 11-4 record.

Starting at the top of the standings, the Philadelphia Eagles could clinch both the NFC East division title and the bye week in the playoffs. To clinch the division, they would either need to win or need the Cowboys to lose.
On that side, it looks like the Eagles would need to take care of the New Orleans Saints in which they are a 6-point favorite being that Dallas is an 11-point favorite on Thursday night.
As for how the Eagles can clinch the bye, they’ll need to win or see the Vikings, Cowboys, and 49ers all lose their games
The next three clinching scenarios are all for teams to make the playoffs and include the New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Starting with Tom Brady and the Bucs, in order to make the playoffs, they’ll just need to win outright and are currently 3-point favorites to do so over the Carolina Panthers.
As for the Washington Commanders, they need to win their matchup as well as see the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions all lose their games. Oddsmakers do see the Commanders winning with -2 leaning their way on the spread against the Cleveland Browns.
Unfortunately, both the Lions and Packers are favored to win their matchups while the Seahawks are the only underdog of the three at 2 on the spread against the New York Jets.
The final clinching scenario of the weekend could see the Giants make it in with seven different ways in doing so. The first is a Giants win where they are 6-point favorites over the Indianapolis Colts.
The other scenarios include multiple variations of losses between the Commanders, Lions, Seahawks, and Packers. The Giants must win or tie their matchup though with those teams losing in order to make it in.
