The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks in a divisional battle. These two teams face each other often and are playing basketball similarly well.
The Cavaliers came out of the gate hot and won eight of their first nine games. They followed that up with five straight losses but are currently on a four-game winning streak.
The Bucks started the season on a nine-game winning streak but have gone 3-5 since then.
Their team is still quite dangerous, even though they have been inconsistent over the last eight games.
In their previous game, the Cavaliers beat the Portland Trail Blazer 114-96. Cleveland had a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter and built out their lead to 18 points over the next three.
Donovan Mitchell led all players with 34 points and went 6-10 from deep. Darius Garland also had a great game and had a 24-point, 12-assist double-double. Jarrett Allen also contributed significantly and had a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double.
The Cavaliers only put up 74 shots but shot 55.4% from the field.
The Bucks lost their last game to the Chicago Bulls 118-113. Milwaukee and Chicago traded leads the whole game, and the game was tied at 109 with a little under a minute left.
Coby White proceeded to hit a three for Chicago with 46.1 seconds left, and the Bulls pulled away. Giannis Antetokounmp led all Bucks with 36 points and had 11 rebounds and seven assists. Both teams shot well, but the Bulls shot 42.9% from deep, compared to the Bucks’ 31.6%.
This game could go either way, but I would bet on the Bucks’ moneyline. The Bucks are struggling a little more, but most of their struggles have come on the road. Milwaukee is 9-2 at home and facing a Cavaliers squad that is 4-5 on the road.
The Bucks are not playing their best basketball at the moment but beat the Cavaliers 113-98 when they faced them on November 16.
Even though they are playing without Khris Middleton (as they have been all season), they have a better all-around roster and a higher ceiling. I expect Milwaukee to perform at a very high level today, which is why they will win.
My Prediction: Buck 109, Cavaliers 104
1u – Darius Garland
